FFXV just had Lestalum and Altissia, and then the myriad outposts (which are really just inns/item shops/gas stations. Having played other open world RPGs I kind of wish there were more towns/villages/cities to visit/explore. I get that the game wants to emphasize the open world, but after beating the game, you kind of realize how small it is in terms of diversity. I'm kind of bummed that, as large as FFXV's open world is, there's only one 2 real cities (Altissia/Lestalum), and they're both rather small in terms of NPCs you can interact with and buildings you can enter.
